Understanding Your Dashboard

Understand Your Dashboard

The dashboard is the first screen you see after logging in. Use this screen to get a quick view to your customers and events.

In this video tutorial, we will go over the dashboard. The dashboard is the first screen you see after logging in. It is used to give you a summary of the state of your customers and events. As well, it can help you get started creating events and checking product availability.

For this tutorial, we will be using a demonstration account. Your account should look very similar. If you are just getting started with Party Rental Planner you won't see any recent customers or rentals.

The Dashboard is a screen which will give you a summary of your account activity. Lets go over the parts of the dashboard starting from top to bottom.

First up is the Product Availability module.

Once you’ve entered your inventory into Party Rental Planner, you can easily check to see which products are available on a specific date. Start by typing the name of a product in the first input field. As you type a list of your products will be displayed. Once you see the product you are interested in click the ‘blue use button’.

Next, select the start and end date of the time period you wish to check. You must enter both dates.

Once you have selected your product and dates, click the ‘Check’ button. Party Rental Planner will then look into your events and see if your product is available. For products which do not use a quantity, you will see the word ‘unlimited’. If the product you are using tracks inventory, you will see the number of items available. If you don’t have any items available, a negative number will be displayed indicating how many items you are short.

For more information on managing your inventory, please see the Managing Inventory Video Tutorial.

Next on the dashboard is the Plan Usage Module.

This module indicates which plan you are currently subscribed to. If you are subscribed to a limited or non professional account, you will see how many customers, events and pdfs are still available for you to create. Don’t worry, if you reach your limit, you can always upgrade by clicking on the ‘Change Plan’ button.

Below the Plan Usage Module is the Quick Quote Module.

This module is used to quickly create a customer and an event on a specific date. This is not the only way to create a customer and event, but it is by far the fastest.

To use the quick quote module start typing the first and last name into the first and last name input fields. If the customer you are adding already exists, the account information will appear in a list below the inputs. This will help prevent you from creating duplicate customers.

If your customer’s name does not appear, this means the customer doesn’t exist and a new one will automatically be created for you. Next enter the date of the event. Once selected via the calendar, click the ‘Create Event’ button. Party Rental Planner will then create a new customer (if it didn’t exist) and then create a new event. If the customer did exist the new event will be added to that customer.

The final two modules on the dashboard are the ‘Recent Customers’ and ‘Upcoming Events’.

Recent customers will display the last 10 customers your managed while upcoming events will display any upcoming events. Use these two modules to quick view information about accounts which are relevant. We will cover customers and events in another video. In the meantime feel free to explore these items.
